What’s In Silver Honey® and How Does It Work?

We sure love our Silver Honey®. This fast-acting, rapid-healing ointment for animals works so well, you might be wondering, what exactly is in our ointment that makes it work so well? Good question! We’ll share all of the details on how this gentle yet effective treatment heals skin infections and wounds. Keep reading to see exactly why Silver Honey® is the ultimate skin treatment for your pets…

What’s In Silver Honey® and How Does It Work?

First and foremost, Silver Honey® does not contain any antibiotics in its formula. We believe in using natural, medical-grade ingredients, which is why our two active ingredients are Manuka Honey and MicroSilver BG®. These two ingredients work in tandem to provide multiple antibacterial mechanisms for quick wound healing in your pets.

Manuka Honey contains enzymes that transform sugars into hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic. Manuka Honey has an osmotic effect, which dehydrates and inhibits bacterial growth, and helps remove dead tissue. Furthermore, honey provides a hydrating and balanced environment for wounds to heal.

Medical-grade MicroSilver BG® is another powerful ingredient from mother nature, and has antibacterial effects. Silver uses multiple mechanisms to kill bacteria and has anti-inflammatory effects. Unlike other silvers, MicroSilver BG®’s large particles stay on the skin’s surface as a protective barrier without being absorbed.

In addition to Manuka Honey and MicroSilver BG®, we have included other great natural ingredients like neem oil to repel flies; and allantoin, shea butter, panthenol, and calendula flower extract to condition, moisturize, and protect your pet’s skin.

Together, these ingredients work to stop 99.9% of bacteria with natural antimicrobial power and help heal skin infections, conditions, and wounds quickly. We recommend applying Silver Honey® on cleansed, dry skin daily and liberally until your pet’s wound is healed.
